The Wave Background

The Wave was invented by a martial arts master from overseas. His goal was to meld the motions and aesthetics of martial arts with an entirely new type of board sport. The result is Street Surfing.

Once proficient on The Wave, it becomes one with your body. Whatever your upper body does, The Wave naturally follows. The Wave has a magical quality that has never before been captured on wheels.

How Does The Wave Work?

The Wave has front and rear flexible panels that are controlled by a spring-oriented torsion bar. It has only 2 wheels, which are both free to rotate 360 degrees. The Wave is self-propelled by twisting your hips and shoulders back and forth in an S-shape motion.

The Wave captures the imagination of an incredibly wide age range. Young kids and young adults alike are mesmerized by The Wave’s smooth ride, versatility and incredible sharp turns!

Learning to ride The Wave

1) Place The Wave on a very slight downward slope. Place your leading foot in the center of the front platform of the board and position the board so that it is level with the ground.

2)Give a push with your back foot and place that foot in the center of the back platform.

3)Immediately after pushing off, start twisting at your hips. Allow your shoulders to get in on the twisting motion too. Also, let this upper body motion transfer into your feet. Your feet should be moving in opposite directions.

Alternate Ways of Propelling The Wave

Alternate 1: Use only your back foot to create a fishtail-like back and forth motion.
Alternate 2: Move both feet back and forth in the same direction at the same time.

Safety

When a Street Surfer becomes displaced from his or her board, the 2-wheel design causes the board to tip over and meet the ground. This feature minimizes undesirable falls.

Always wear a helmet and other safety gear such as kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards. 

Wave Quality

The Wave is built with high quality components. The platforms are made of a virtually indestructible ABS plastic. The Wave has a steel torsion bar that never wears down. Wheels have been selected based on a tenuous balance of durability and traction. Wheel size is 77mm 85A. All bearings are ABEC 5.
